Patrick J. O'Connor, 86, Of Dumont

DUMONT, N.J. -- Patrick J. O'Connor, of Dumont, died Sunday, Nov. 20. He was 86.

He was an air conditioning and heating engineer for more than 20 years, retiring from Tishman-Spier in New York City in 1993. He was a member and past president of the Bergen Irish Association and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country in the National Guard Fighting 69th, NYC.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; children, Joe O’Connor and his wife Carmel, Patricia Burke and her late husband Edward and Maureen Woods and her late husband Richard; siblings, Sister Anne Connor, Madeline Flynn, Dominic Connor and Jerry O’Connor and the late Kathleen Drury; grandchildren, Thomas, Maureen, Katie, Brian, Edward, Alyssa and Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Brenna, Quinn and Reagan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 280 Washington Ave., Dumont. Entombment will be in Ascension Cemetery Mausoleum in Monsey, N.Y. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater NJ, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
